There have been lots of times in my life when people told me I couldn't accomplish something or I wasn't capable or wasn't worthy.
For example, the guidance counselor at my high school told me that I shouldn't consider college . . . instead I should find a husband to take care of me.
After I was hit by a car and then shot by someone that I didn't know, I was told by a number of doctors to never get pregnant because a pregnancy would kill me because of the extent of my wounds and the organs that were removed.
And there have been so many, many other times in life. But, each time, after feeling defeated and beat down for awhile, I'd get up, dust myself off . . . and say to myself, "Just watch me!" And I'd take action to face and overcome the obstacle.
So when the two Vietnamese guides, that we had hired to explore an ancient site, told me that I couldn't climb to the top of the mountain because I was too old for the steep, slippery trail, I thought to myself. "Just watch me!" and made it to the top. It wasn't easy, but I'm glad that I did it. This is the view from the top. Can you see just a bit of defiance in my eye?
So if someone (or a number of people) tell you that you aren't capable or aren't worthy, please say these words to yourself with fervor, "Just Watch Me!!" and then dust yourself off and go forward.
p.s. I went to college, and I had a baby_ - the wonderful Meadow (albeit I didn't see a doctor or a midwife for eight and a half months because I didn't want anyone to tell me that having a baby would kill me.This maybe was a dumb idea, but it worked out.)
What if you know ‘you’ better than anyone else ?
Would you then buy into other people’s points of view?
Thank you for visiting the TREASURE TROVE today.
Namaste,
