“The only service a friend can really render is to keep up your courage by holding up to you a mirror in which you can see a noble image of yourself.”
~ George Bernard Shaw
The story goes that a fire broke out in a house in which a man was fast asleep.
They tried to carry him out through the window.
No way.
They tried to carry him out through the door.
No way.He was too huge and heavy.
They were pretty desperate till someone suggested:
“Wake him up,then he’ll get out by himself.”
Only sleepers and children need to be taken care of.
Wake up !
Or
Grow up !
~Anthony de Mello
“As far as service goes, it can take the form of a million things. To do service, you don't have to be a doctor working in the slums for free, or become a social worker. Your position in life and what you do doesn't matter as much as how you do what you do.” ~ Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
“You are what you do, not what you say you'll do.”― C.G. Jung
“God does watch over us and does notice us, but it usually through someone else that he meets our needs.”― Spencer W. Kimball
“The best helping hand that you will ever receive is the one at the end of your own arm.”
~ Fred Dehner
P.S:Today’s story resonates with me a 100%.
The kind of work I choose to do,has required me to go out on the limb, ever so often, to reintroduce people to their authentic selves.
I share with them the tools I have used in my own life and assure them that they work for anyone who uses them.
I come across all kinds of people…….
Some come…. only to dump all their garbage and go away feeling lighter. They disappear until they need to dump some more and suddenly remember me.
Some choose to come only when they find themselves in the midst of crisis. They use the tools I equip them with….. for some time….and when they are back on track ….stop using them…and wonder why their life is not changing.
Our lives change only when we do.
Few others come….they are willing to listen and learn. They go back empowered .They make the best use of the tools consistently. They are willing to get back into the driver’s seat of their lives.
They choose to keep in touch. It is such a delight to hear from them often about the magic and miracles unfolding in their lives practically all the time.
I am grateful for the opportunity to reach out and help people rediscover themselves.
Thank you for visiting the TREASURE TROVE today.
Namaste,
Bhagya
